100% "Off the Grid"
This solar house was shown on national television when it was featured on the Discovery Channel program about energy efficient buildings in the U.S.A. This house is unique in that it is completely 'off ' the Pacific Gas & Electric power grid. All electric energy required to operate the house is produced by roof mounted Photovoltaic solar cells, wind generators and solar hot water heaters. Energy is stored in batteries for later use. Any extra power generated beyond what the batteries can hold is actually sold back to PG&E at competitive rates!
